Tip: drag and drop a .md file onto the editor.
In the print dialog, choose Save as PDF and turn off Headers and footers.
How do I convert Markdown to PDF?
Paste your Markdown into the editor or open a .md file, check the live A4 preview, then select Download PDF. Your browser's print dialog opens: set the destination to Save as PDF and save. The whole conversion happens on your device, so there is nothing to install and no file is uploaded.
- Open a .md file with the Open .md file button, drag it onto the editor, or paste Markdown directly.
- Review the PDF preview. It updates as you type.
- Select Download PDF.
- In the print dialog, set Destination to Save as PDF and turn off Headers and footers.
- Select Save.
What does the PDF look like?
The PDF uses A4 paper with 2 cm margins, Arial 11 pt body text and 1.5 line spacing. Headings, tables, code blocks, quotes and lists get clean print styles, and headings, table rows and code blocks avoid breaking awkwardly across pages.
- Page: A4, 2 cm margins on every side
- Text: Arial 11 pt with 1.5 line spacing
- Headings: 26, 19, 14 and 12 pt, kept together with the text that follows
- Tables: full width, bordered cells, 9 pt text
- Code: 9 pt monospace on a light grey background, with long lines wrapped
- Images: scaled down to fit the page width
Frequently asked questions
Is my document uploaded to a server?
No. The Markdown to PDF converter runs entirely in your browser. Your file is read on your device, converted to HTML locally and turned into a PDF by the browser's own print engine. The document's content is never sent to mimobr.com or any other server, so the converter is suitable for private documents.
Is the Markdown to PDF converter free?
Yes. The converter is free to use, needs no account or sign-up, and adds no watermark to your PDF. There is no page limit: long documents work as long as your browser can display them. Once the page has loaded, the conversion also works offline.
Which Markdown features are supported?
The converter supports GitHub Flavored Markdown: headings, bold, italic and strikethrough, ordered, unordered and task lists, tables, fenced code blocks, blockquotes, links, horizontal rules and inline HTML. Images work when they use a full web address (https://…). Scripts inside the document are blocked for security.
Why does a print dialog open instead of a direct download?
The PDF is created by your browser's built-in PDF engine through the print dialog. That keeps the text sharp, selectable and searchable, unlike converters that turn pages into images, and it means the file never has to be uploaded. Choose Save as PDF as the destination to download the file.
How do I remove the date and web address from the PDF?
The date, title and web address at the top and bottom of each page are added by the browser, not by the converter. In the print dialog, open More settings and turn off Headers and footers. In Safari, uncheck Print headers and footers. The document content and margins stay the same.
Who built this tool?
I'm Reinaldo Nani, a MarTech Stack Architect & DXP Manager based in São Paulo, Brazil. This converter is the browser version of the Python script I use to turn Markdown documentation into PDFs, with the same A4 print styles.
