MIXIO Receipt Analyzer

MIXIO is an AI receipt analyzer: upload a photo of a supermarket receipt and see how much you spent in each product category, as an amount and as a share of the total. Free, no sign-up.

Your image is sent to Google Gemini for analysis and is not stored. Avoid uploading receipts that show card numbers or your tax ID. How your image is handled

How do I analyze a supermarket receipt with MIXIO?

Upload a clear photo or scan of your receipt in PNG or JPG format, then select Analyze receipt. MIXIO sends the image to Google Gemini, which reads each item and price and groups them into eight grocery categories. After about 5 to 30 seconds you get a table with totals and percentages.

  1. Take a sharp, well-lit photo of the whole receipt, or scan it.
  2. Drag the image onto the upload area, or select it to choose a PNG or JPG file up to 10 MB.
  3. Select Analyze receipt and wait while the AI reads it.
  4. Review the spending table and compare the total with the amount printed on your receipt.
  5. Select Analyze another receipt to start again.

What spending categories does MIXIO use?

MIXIO groups every item on the receipt into eight grocery categories, adds up each category and calculates its percentage of the final amount paid. The AI returns category names in Portuguese, and MIXIO shows them in English. If an item fits none of them, the AI may add another category.

Frequently asked questions

Is my receipt image stored?

No. The image is uploaded to the MIXIO server on Google Cloud, analyzed by Google Gemini through Vertex AI and processed in memory without being saved. The server does keep technical logs, including your IP address and a preview of the AI result, for rate limiting and troubleshooting.

How does MIXIO read a receipt?

MIXIO sends your receipt photo to Google Gemini, a multimodal AI model, with instructions to read every item, price and discount, group the items into eight grocery categories and calculate each category's share of the final amount paid. Gemini answers in a structured format that MIXIO turns into a table.

Which receipts work best?

Use a sharp, well-lit photo or scan of the whole receipt, in PNG or JPG format and under 10 MB. MIXIO was designed around Portuguese supermarket receipts, where the final amount is labelled "A PAGAR". Receipts in other languages may work, but the results are less predictable.

How accurate are the results?

The results come from an AI model, so an item can occasionally land in the wrong category or a price can be misread, especially on blurry or crumpled receipts. Always compare the total shown by MIXIO with the total printed on your receipt before using the numbers for budgeting.

Why do I see "Too many requests"?

To keep MIXIO free and protect it from abuse, each visitor can run up to 4 analyses per minute. The limit is counted per IP address, so people on the same network share it. If you reach the limit, wait about a minute and try again.

Is MIXIO free to use?

Yes. MIXIO is free to use, needs no account or sign-up and has no ads. The only limit is 4 analyses per minute per visitor, which keeps the service available for everyone.

Who built this tool?

I'm Reinaldo Nani, a MarTech Stack Architect & DXP Manager based in São Paulo, Brazil. I built MIXIO as an AI agent project: a React front end, a Python FastAPI back end on Google Cloud Run, and Google Gemini on Vertex AI to read the receipt. The name comes from "product mix", the blend of products in a shopping basket.
